As the echo of folk songs is now echoing in Patna. Kartik Shukla Chaturthi, the four-day ritual of Mahaparva Chhath of Lok Aastha, begins on November 18 from Nahay-Khay. It will conclude on November 21. Chhath festival is mainly a festival of worship of Lord Bhaskar, the direct deity. According to mythological beliefs, the sixth Maiya is the sister of Suryadev. It is popularly believed that worshiping Lord Sun during Chhath gives happiness to Chhath Mata and brings happiness, peace and wealth to the family. Jyotishacharya Pandit Rakesh Jha Shastri informed that the four-day Chhath Mahaparva started from Nahay-Khay in Ravi Yoga on 18th. This mahaparva will end in a very Subhashubh Dwipushkar Yoga. It is religious belief that on this date, just by bathing the Ganges, all the troubles of the body, especially skin diseases, are destroyed.
