Vasant Panchami or Sripanchami is a Hindu festival. Goddess Saraswati is worshiped on this day. This puja is celebrated with great fervor in eastern India, northwest Bangladesh, Nepal and many nations. On this day, we wear yellow clothes.
In ancient India and Nepal, spring was the most desirable season of the people among the six seasons in which the whole year was divided. When the flowers came out, the fields used to start glowing like mustard flowers, gold began to blossom, barley and wheat earrings blossomed, mango trees used to grow and colorful butterflies started hovering everywhere. Whole whirlpools started whirling. A big celebration was held on the fifth day of the month of Magh to welcome the spring season where Vishnu and Kamadeva are worshiped. It was called the festival of Vasant Panchami. In the scriptures, Basant Panchami is mentioned from Rishi Panchami, then it is depicted differently in Puranas and Shastras and in many poems.
Vasant Panchami Katha/stories
According to the story of the Upanishads, Lord Brahma created the creatures, especially the human vagina, by the order of Lord Shiva in the early period of creation. But he was not satisfied with his creativity, he felt that there was something missing due to which there was silence all around.
Then to solve this problem, Brahma Ji took water from his kamandal in his palm and started spraying that water as a resolution and praising Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu immediately appeared in front of Brahma ji's praise, and knowing his problem, Lord Vishnu gave a call to Adishakti Durga Mata. Due to the call by Vishnu, Bhagwati Durga immediately appeared there, then Brahma and Vishnu Ji requested her to overcome this crisis.
After hearing Brahma ji and Vishnu ji, at that very moment, a huge glow of white color emerged from the body of Adi Shakti Durga Mata which turned into a divine woman. This form was that of a quadrilateral beautiful woman with Veena in one hand and Vara mudra in the other hand. In both other hands, there were books and garlands. The goddess sweetened the veena as soon as Adi Shakti appeared from the light emanating from the body of Shri Durga, so that all creatures of the world got a voice. There was uproar in the water stream. The wind started rustling. Then all the Gods who communicated the word and the rasa called those goddess of speech "Goddess Saraswati".
Then Adishakti Bhagwati Durga told Bramha ji that this Goddess Saraswati born of my glory will become your wife, just as Lakshmi is the power of Shri Vishnu, Parvati Mahadev is the power of Shiva, similarly this Saraswati Devi will be your power. By saying this, Adishakti Shri Durga became impatient while seeing all the gods. After this all the gods got involved in the operation of creation.
Saraswati is worshiped under various names including Vagishwari, Bhagwati, Sharda, Veenavadini and Vagdevi. They are the providers of learning and intelligence. She is also the goddess of music due to the origin of music. Basant also celebrates the day of Panchami as his manifestation. In the Rigveda describing Bhagwati Saraswati it is said-
Prano Devi Saraswati Vajhebirvajinivati Dhinamanitrayayavatu
That is, they are the ultimate consciousness. As Saraswati, she is the protector of our intelligence, intelligence and attitudes. The ethos and intellect in us is the basis of Bhagwati Saraswati. His richness and splendor of form are amazing. According to the Puranas, Shri Krishna was pleased with Saraswati and gave him a boon that you will also be worshiped on Vasant Panchami and from that time onwards, as a result of this boon, Saraswati, the goddess of learning, started worshiping on the day of Vasant Panchami in India. Continues. The kiteboarding has no direct relation to the spring. But the practice of flying kites started in China thousands of years ago and then reached India via Korea and Japan.
Importance of festival
As spring comes, every particle of nature blossoms. Are humans filled with glee even to animals and birds. Every day there is a new sunrise and after giving new consciousness, he goes away with the assurance of coming again the next day.

Mythological significance
Along with this, this festival also reminds us of many inspiring events of the past. First of all it connects us to the Treta Yuga. After the demise of Sita by Ravana, Rama proceeded south in search of him. Dandakaranya was also among the places he visited. A Bhilani named Shabri lived here. When Rama came to her hut, she lost her mind and started tasting the sweet plum Rama Ji. All the singers of Ramkatha presented this incident involving the infested bears in their own way.
That area of Dandakaranya is spread these days in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. In the Dang district of Gujarat is the place where Shabri Maa had her ashram. Ramchandra ji came there on the day of Vasant Panchami. The forest dwellers of that region still worship a rock, about which they have the reverence that Shri Ram came and sat here. There is also a temple of Shabari Mata.
Historical significance
The day of Vasant Panchami also reminds us of Prithviraj Chauhan. He defeated the foreign invader Mohammad Ghori 16 times and left him alive every time, showing generosity, but when he was defeated for the seventeenth time, Mohammad Ghori did not leave him. He took them with him to Afghanistan and burst his eyes. The event after this is well known. Mohammed Ghori wanted to see the brilliance of his wrenching arrow before he was given the death penalty. On the advice of Prithviraj's fellow poet Chandbardai, Ghori indicated by sitting on a high place, hitting the pan. Then Chandbardai gave a message to Prithviraj.
Four bamboo twenty four yards, Angul Ashta proof.
Ta is the Sultan above, do not miss Chauhan.
Prithviraj Chauhan did not forget this time. The arrow which he guessed from the injury on the pan and the sign of Chandbardai, hit Mohammad Ghori's chest. After this Chandrabardai and Prithviraj also surrendered by stabbing each other in the stomach. (1192 AD) This incident also happened on the day of Vasant Panchami.
Basant Panchami day is very important for Sikhs. It is believed that Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru of Sikhs was married on Basant Panchami.
Vasant Panchami also has a deep connection with Veer reality of Lahore. One day when Mulla ji left school for some work, all the children started playing, but he kept studying. When the other children teased her, Durga's mother sang. Muslim children mocked Durga Maa. Reality said that if I say something about your Bibi Fatima, how will you feel? Just then what was the matter, as soon as Mulla ji came, those mischievous students complained that he abused Bibi Fatima. Then the matter progressed to Kazi. The same decision was expected in Muslim rule. It was ordered that either reality should become Muslim, otherwise he will be given death penalty. Reality did not accept this. As a result, he was issued a decree to take down the sword.
It is said that on seeing his innocent face, the sword fell from the executioner's hand. Reality gave the sword in his hand and said that when I am a child and following my religion, why are you growing up and turning away from your religion? At this, the executioner strengthened his heart and fired a sword, but that hero's head did not fall to the earth. He went straight to heaven from the skyway. The incident took place on Vasant Panchami (23.2.1734) only. Although Pakistan is a Muslim country, kites are flown on Vasant Panchami to commemorate the heavenly head of reality. Reality was a resident of Lahore. Hence, the greatest emphasis of kite flying is in Lahore.

Vasant Panchami also reminds us of Guru Ram Singh Kuka. He was born in 1816 AD on Vasant Panchami in Bhaini village, Ludhiana. He stayed in Maharaja Ranjit Singh's army for some time, then came home and started farming, but due to the spiritual tendency, people started listening to his sermons. Gradually there was a separate cult of his disciples, which was called the Kuka Panth.
Guru Ramsingh used to give a lot of emphasis on cow protection, Swadeshi, women's salvation, inter-caste marriage, mass marriage etc. He too first started his independent postal and administration system by boycotting the British rule. Every year a fair was held in Bhaini village on Makar Sankranti. While coming to the fair in 1872, one of his disciples was surrounded by Muslims. They beat him and slaughtered him and put beef in his mouth. Hearing this, Guru Ramsingh's disciples were agitated. They attacked that village, but the British army came from the other side. Hence, the dice of war turned.
Many Kuka heroic martyrs were killed in this struggle and 68 were captured. 50 of these were blown up on seventeen January 1872 in front of a cannon at Malerkotla. The remaining 18 were hanged the next day. Two days later, Guru Ramsingh was also captured and sent to Mandalay jail in Burma. He sacrificed his body in 1885, after suffering harsh atrocities there for 14 years.
